Landfill Gas Compliance and Permitting for Municipal Landfill

FTN was retained to assist a Class 1 Municipal Solid Waste Landfill with the landfill's gas compliance issues. FTN prepared and submitted the Amended Design Capacity Report (ADCR) for the facility, which had just received a new Solid Waste Permit to expand its waste capacity. Upon submittal of the ADCR, FTN performed a New Source Performance Standards Tier II Sampling at the facility. Data from the Tier II sampling was used in development of a Site Specific Non-Methane Organic Compounds (NMOC) emission rate for the facility. Based upon the revised NMOC emission rate, the facility avoided the costly installation of a landfill gas collection and control system. FTN further assisted the facility in acquiring the required Title V Air Permit for the facility and currently assists with the annual reporting under the Air Permit.
