Site Civil Design for an Airplane Manufacturing Facility
Little Rock, Arkansas
FTN prepared the design, plans and construction specifications, and construction cost estimates for multiple plant expansion projects at an airplane manufacturing facility in Little Rock, AR. Expansions included a new paint and preparation hangar, a production building expansion, and a new service center hangar and offices. Projects were performed both as design-build and as traditional design-bid-build. Design included:
Site grading and drainage;
Drives, taxiway extensions, aircraft aprons, and parking;
Site electrical, natural gas, and water and sewer;
Sanitary and industrial wastewater pump stations;
Public street widening and overlay;
Stormwater detention; and
Miscellaneous site work, including security fencing.
FTN prepared NPDES Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans and supporting documentation and Erosion Control Plans required by the City of Little Rock. FTN also worked with various reviewing agencies to facilitate project approval.
Hydrologic and hydraulic calculations for drainage and detention submittals to Little Rock Public Works.
Preparation and submittal of construction stormwater permit application and supporting documentation.
Evaluating alternatives for sanitary and industrial waste handling.
Design and preparation of drawings and technical specifications for all site improvements and utilities.
Performing intermittent construction-related support to facilitate project changes and resolve unforeseeable subsurface water issues.
