Initial results from previous studies indicated that foundation soils in the area are inadequate to withstand seismic loading without soil stabilization treatment. The primary purpose of this study was to perform additional investigations and analyses, design a stable dam section, and develop feasibility level cost estimates for constructing a stable dam structure at this site in the New Madrid seismic zone.
