Wastewater Treatment and Process Water Reuse System for a Poultry Processing Plant

FTN was part of a design/build team for a new 1.5 million gallon per day secondary biological wastewater treatment system and a 900,000-gallon per day (GPD) reuse system for a poultry processing facility in northeast Arkansas.The wastewater treatment system included a 375,000-gallon equalization tank, Moving Bed Biological Reactors, a dissolved air flotation unit for final clarification, and sludge holding and handling facilities. The reuse system consisted of 900,000 gpd advanced treatment system utilizing ozone for treating process wastewater effluent to USDA standards for reuse in the processing operations. Zentox, Inc. provided the reuse and FTN provided engineering support to Zentox.
