Water Quality and Biological Modeling for the Lower Snake River

FTN provided assistance to Normandeau Associates for developing a study plan and selecting a model to estimate primary and secondary productivity in the Lower Snake River for the existing system of impoundments and for the proposed free flowing system. FTN used the WQRRS model to make dynamic simulations of water temperatures for existing and proposed conditions, using historical data for calibration. FTN customized the water quality and biological routines in the WQRRS model to better represent the Snake River. FTN developed a preliminary calibration for the water quality and biological simulations and assisted Normandeau with the final adjustments to the model.
