Landfill Groundwater Monitoring and Hydrogeologic Geotechnical Investigation

FTN was contracted to perform groundwater sampling, statistical analyses, and reporting for regulatory compliance at a Class 1 municipal solid waste facility. An alternate source demonstration was prepared that documented the effects of large-scale groundwater withdrawals for irrigation pumping in the area and changes in regional groundwater quality. Additional wells were also installed to investigate the source of metals in one monitoring well. FTN also performed a detailed hydrogeologic and geotechnical investigation at the site in association with a 140-acre expansion of the landfill. A summary report documenting the investigation and an updated Groundwater Sampling and Analysis Plan for the expanded facility was submitted to the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality.
