Roles We Recruit For

FTN hires across engineering and environmental disciplines. Common openings include civil and environmental engineers, hydrologists, geologists, biologists, scientists, field technicians, CAD staff, and project managers.

Project work spans NPDES permitting, stormwater and drainage design, wetland and natural resource studies, groundwater investigation, landfill cell design, water and wastewater facilities, and hydrologic modeling for public agencies and private clients. Positions are based in Little Rock, Fayetteville, Baton Rouge, and Chesterfield, with travel to client sites and field work as projects require.

In 2005, shortly after graduating from college, I had one job offer in Indiana and another in California. My preference was to stay in Arkansas, but I hadn’t come across a position that was of major interest. I was talking with a friend at church about my situation, and he said he had a friend who worked at FTN, Dr. Gary Tucker.

Dr. Tucker told me that FTN Associates was looking for an entry level professional, so I interviewed. That’s when I learned about the variety of projects FTN was working on, including water quality, wetlands, environmental clean-up, endangered species, and other areas that appealed to me. I was thrilled when Dr. Tucker offered me the job. I have now had the opportunity to work on several types of projects, many of which evolve over time. As this occurs, I have had enough experiences that I can either provide a client with the solution to solve the problem or walk down the hallway at FTN and find another professional with the knowledge needed. The variety of work at FTN is what keeps things interesting!
